+++ October 2009 – New Quebec experience class announced +++

Immigration Quebec introduces a new skilled worker category "Quebec experience class" or "Programme de l'expérience québécoise" (PEQ). This is the provincial counterpart to the federal Canadian experience class, which started in fall 2008.

Even though both programs look similar there are some fundamental differences.

At the federal level, applicants still have to submit a complete application and will be fast-tracked in case they are found eligible for the Canadian experience class.

Quebec uses a simplified approach whereas applicants can apply online and have only minimal documentation to submit. This will enable Immigration Quebec to process those applications relatively fast.

The new program is projected to come into effect at the start of 2010.
